STATE OF TEXAS v. UNITED STATES DEPARTMENT OF LABOR, ET AL.

Ruling: A Biden-era Fair Labor Standards Act rule issued by the Department of Labor earlier this year seeking to increase the maximum salary for which salaried workers (workers who are not hourly-wage employees) can be eligible for overtime pay was struck down by The United States District Court for the Eastern District of Texas. The ruling was made by U.S. District Judge Sean Jordan. Under the new provision, the maximum salary cap would have eventually risen from $35,000 to approximately $58,000 over several increase increments; this means that if someone earned a salary of, say, $50,000 a year, they could have then been eligible to be paid for overtime.
